Aiming For a World of Peace and Security

Seventy years is enough time for a corporation to make a difference in the society where it belongs. Such is the case with Squires Bingham Company, Incorporated, the parent company of the Philippines’ leading arms and ammunition company, Arms Corporation of the Philippines (Armscor).

Squires Bingham has played a rich role in the country’s history, helping it rise from the ravages of war to rebuild post-war Philippines. Through its manufacturing subsidiary, Armscor, it has been fulfilling its mission of helping uphold and protect peace, security, safety, and order in the Philippines and in the rest of the world, believing in each person’s right to protect himself, his loved ones and his property = “Karapatan sa Buhay!”

The company products are now the choice of world champion shooters, sportsmen, and elite military and law enforcement professionals here and abroad. The only ISO-9001 certified arms and ammunition manufacturing company in the Philippines since 1997, it has gained a reputation for excellence, winning the trust and acceptance of reputable distributors and agents in over 60 countries in six continents all over the world.

It has entered into a  manufacturing agreement with world-renowned Fratelli Tanfoglio Snc of Italy to eventually transfer the manufacturing Double Action/Single Action pistol technology in the Philippines. Now employing about 1,000 personnel, Squires Bingham and Armscor have contributed to the economy in terms of employment, taxes, business generation for local suppliers, dollar earnings generation through export sales and transfer of technology to make the Philippines even more widely respected as a reliable supplier of world-class quality firearms and ammunition for defense and sporting use.

Armscor, itself, has been the official match ammunition of several international competitions, including the prestigious International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) World Shoot held every three years.

It supports international sporting events and exhibitions such as the Defense and Sporting Arms Show usually held in Megamall; the SHOTSHOW in the USA; the IWA in Nuremberg, Germany; and various defense exhibitions showcasing the best in Philippine-made firearms and ammunition to the rest of the world. It was likewise a major sponsor of the recent World Shoot in Rhodes, Greece, as well as a major sponsor and contributor to the Philippine Team to the World Shoot.

In fact, five-time World Shoot champion Eric Grauffel of France uses Armscor ammunition components. He has been doing so even before his first championship win in 1999.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Aware of its duties as a responsible corporate citizen, Armscor partners with the Philippine National Police and Zonta Club of Makati-Paseo de Roxas in the annual search for the Ten Outstanding Police Women of the Philippines of the Manila Jaycees as well as the LEAD PNP, a Mentor award search for the top Chief of Police in the country. Armscor continues to sponsor many projects of the PNP, AFP, NBI and other law enforcement agency, to encourage marksmanship training and firearm proficiency.

In support of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the company formed the 1st AFP Arsenal (Armscor) Battalion that participates in civil military operations by organizing medical and dental missions as well as disaster relief operations.  It also takes care of an orphanage of 20 young girls; the Bigay Awa at Tanglaw sa mga Anghel Foundation (BATA Foundation), located in its premises.

It ensures care for the environment through its waste water treatment facilities and development of a green environment by promoting tree planting related activities.

From the sportsmen’s Headquarters in Escolta purchased by Don Celso Tuason in 1941, his sons, Demetrio, Severo and Carlos, have succeeded in growing the company to pursue various interests. Aside from Armscor, the Squires Bingham Group of Companies now includes:
